Character Name: Fuuma Monou
Fandom: X/1999
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Sexuality: Bisexual
Alternate Universe

Appearance: For a Japanese teenager, Fuuma is fairly tall for his age, reaching the upper bounds of 5’10” or so. His eyes are of a golden color, but they’re usually hidden behind various pairs of sunglasses. They are also known to glow when he is either angered or using his powers. His hair is somewhat messy, bangs hanging into his eyes.

His body’s fairly toned, but not overly muscular, mostly from playing basketball in high school. He wears fairly casual outfits most of the time, although lately he seems to have a penchant for wearing trenchcoats.
Personality: Fuuma is a kind, if somewhat aloof, teenager. He’s always willing to help someone else in need, offering them a smile and encouraging words at the very least. He has had a compulsion and urge to protect those closest to him from an early age, ever since he saw his little sister Kotori traumatized by their mother’s bloody death trying to bring the first Shinken into the world.

Despite his aloof nature, he is fairly well-liked by his peers and classmates, and is friendly enough to them. After Kotori was killed, however, he withdrew; refusing help from anyone, even his allies within the Ten no Ryuu. But thanks to Sorata and Yuzuriha especially, he has shown vestiges of his old self, even laughing at Sorata’s lame jokes again.

There is another side to Fuuma’s personality that not many have or will see if he has anything to say about it. He has an incredible temper; especially where the people he cares about is concerned. The prime example of this would be after Kotori’s death. He was (and still is, to be honest) furious with Kamui, so much so that he was willing to kill him if only for the fact that he had betrayed them and killed his sister. This has softened considerably, but he doesn’t let these kind of things go that easily. He put Kotori first and foremost in his life; losing her was a major blow to his ego. Fuuma does not take betrayal lightly, and is somewhat impulsive when it comes down to the subject. He’s more likely to attack someone than go asking questions as to why he was betrayed.
Strengths: Thanks to his position as the “Kamui” of the Ten no Ryuu, Fuuma is one of the few people that can wield the sacred sword “Shinken” (or loosely translated as “Divine Sword”) and summon its divine lightning properly. Also because he is involved with the End of the World, he has increased speed, stamina and strength (read: rooftop hopping, regeneration rate, etc.). His specific ability is not only manipulation of matter (Telekinesis), but also a compulsion to grant the true wishes of those around him. Thanks to some training from Subaru and the others, he has learned to hold this compulsion in a bit. But one thing he cannot help, however, is the fact that at random times, he will briefly look like or remind someone of the person they care about the most.

Psychologically, Fuuma’s pretty stubborn, if he thinks that someone needs his help, then dammit, he’s going to help regardless. He wants to have deep connections with people, as much as he knows it might not be a good idea, considering the current track record of the participants of the End of the World. He also has a fairly strong sense of justice, if something’s wrong, he’ll try to help fix it. It doesn’t point due north, but Fuuma will do whatever he can to try and make things right.

Weaknesses: Physically, it’s hard to damage Fuuma, but despite his position, he’s still only human. He bleeds like anyone else, but his tolerance for pain is extremely high; it will take a lot to make him cringe. He’s experienced great amounts of pain, but despite his pain tolerance, he can be killed in normal fashions: shot, stabbed, etc. But in that case, it will take more than what it does to kill a normal human to do any critical damage to him.

Psychologically, on the other hand, Fuuma suffers from a severe hero complex. He will easily throw himself in the face of danger in order to make someone else happy, especially if it happens to be their wish. His wish-granting ability, although partially under control, still flares up from time to time, especially when he’s around people that have extremely strong wishes. He tries to think things through, especially after what had happened to the others, but he still impulsively does things before thinking, making it harder for him to be able to fully understand the situation and sometimes making it worse.

He also hates the fact that he was basically the shadow of his best friend, forced to take whatever side Kamui was going to oppose. He knows full well that means that he would become what Kamui is today if he hadn’t chosen what he had, and the fact of that scares him.
